Dear Blue Ash Neighbor,

It has been my privilege and honor to serve and represent you the citizens of Blue Ash as Council Representative at Large, Mayor and Vice Mayor. When I first entered public service, a wise person encouraged me to remember, “The skills needed to build a house are different than the skill needed to tear one down.” His point was that I should spend my energy on things which make a positive difference in our community. As a member of City Council, I’ve worked hard to build Blue Ash into the premier community in our region.

In my 21 years on city council, I have taken a lead in the following areas:

Keeping our city safe

• Champion for our Police and Fire Services

• Opposed the Duke Energy Pipeline

Strong supporter of single-family owner occupied housing

• Voted against the expansion of Section 8 housing

• Voted to promote revitalization of owner occupied housing

• Voted against Airbnbs (short-term rentals) in all Blue Ash neighborhoods.

Fiscal responsibility and low taxes

• Blue Ash portion of property taxes among lowest in the county

• Balanced city budget with strong rainy day reserves (added 3M to reserves over last 3 years).

• No earnings tax on retirement pay or investment income.

Advocate for amenities residents want

  • 27 miles and growing of walking and biking paths connecting our neighborhoods
  • Enhancements to the Recreation Center and neighborhood parks
  • Blue Ash recognized as “One of the best places to live and raise a family”
  • Voted for new MadTree Parks & Rec location in Summit Park – Now Open.
  • Towne Square Veterans Memorial Park completed this spring.
  • Voted for new $14 Million Rec Center Swimming Pool & Pickelball Courts to be completed spring 2026.
  • Added more parking to downtown Blue Ash.

Vision and Priorities

  • Ensure that the vacant property at the corner of Reed Hartman and Glendale Milford Roads is developed into a project that adds value to the community, such as a Community Performing Arts Center. Community engagement for this property is critical. The City, land owners, and nearby residents should work together to ensure that if a project is built there, it works for all of us.
  • Continue to maintain our balanced community (1/3 residential, 1/3 commercial, and 1/3 recreational). This balance has given Blue Ash the stability to weather the covid pandemic and any future economic downturns.
  • Continue to improve communications and transparency between the residents and our City Administration.

Blue Ash is a representative government. You don’t elect us to represent our own agendas. You elect us to represent yours. I ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 4th, so that I can continue my commitment to you and the rest of Blue Ash.

With my sincere thanks,

Council Representative at Large

“We are fortunate to have Lee Czerwonka as our mayor and representative at large on council. Blue Ash has become a truly great municipality in large part because of the strong leadership Mr. Czerwonka has demonstrated. His accomplishments are extensive, he is a tireless worker, has a great vision for our community, and is able to focus on the necessary details of city government to get things done. Lee has clearly demonstrated that he is always focused on the best interest of Blue Ash.”

– Robert V. Miller, Resident, Carpenters Run, Blue Ash

“Having lived in peaceful, beautiful

Blue Ash for over 30 years, I can truthfully say I am proud of the way Lee has represented the community. He has faithfully served on council for 21 years, 4 as Vice Mayor and 4 as Mayor. I agree with and applaud him on his stand against having marijuana distributors in Blue Ash.”

– Marcallene Shockey, President, Arcadia Subdivision Homeowners Association

“We have received many compliments over the last few years for the improvements we have made to our business property. We needed the cooperation of the city to make these improvements. Through the process the most cooperative, understanding, and helpful member of the administration was Lee Czerwonka.”

– Chris McKeown, Owner, Bloomin Garden Center, Blue Ash

More Testimonials

“I moved to Blue Ash in 1999, just a few months before a tornado devastated our neighborhood. I remember looking out at the surreal landscape and wondering what had happened and what I should do. Then I saw Mr. Czerwonka. Lee rallied the residents. He had already spoken to city officials and explained what had happened and what we could expect next. In the days and weeks that followed, Mr. Czerwonka guided the repairs, dealt with the insurance company and personally helped residents through the crisis. In the years that have followed, I came to know Lee Czerwonka as a natural born leader, a devoted public servant, a good neighbor and a great friend. Everyone in the neighborhood calls Lee in a crisis. . . and he is always there to help. Lee Czerwonka is a good man who deserves to be re-elected to another term on Blue Ash City Council.”

“In the Spring of 2010, our residential complex of Hickory Ridge was threatened by an unwanted development by a local developer. We explained the situation to Lee who was not only sympathetic to our concerns, but was truly supportive during the process of presenting to the Zoning Board and City Council. It was wonderful to learn that he was extremely approachable and understanding to our concerns. He made his decision and vote with an eye for what is best for making Blue Ash a great place to live.”

Lee is never afraid to make the tough decisions that come with the job of a City Council Member. He is experienced, knowledgeable and completely dedicated to the City of Blue Ash.
